- Raw Food: A Journey of Transformation -

Raw food is transformational. It is living. Soul-giving. For me, it has been a journey of letting go—and embracing the abundant life that follows.

My curiosity with raw food began as my diet evolved with a deeper focus on food as a tool for healing. I took a Raw Food Chef certification course, intrigued by the creative possibilities of this lifestyle. What I discovered far surpassed my expectations.

But it wasn’t until a year later, when I committed to eating only fruit for an entire month, that I truly experienced the profound healing power of raw, living foods. I entered a high vibrational state, fully aware of the life force within these foods—and the incredible transformation that came from nourishing myself this way. In that space, I felt a deep knowing.

I’ll admit, the process was not without its challenges. Letting go of parts of my identity was difficult. I had long been known as the “plant-based chef” and “mushroom queen,” and my food inspired many conversations. What would I be without those titles? These questions and thoughts swirled in my mind as I faced a new version of myself emerging—and ultimately found peace with this evolution.

Ten years earlier, during my travels, I met a fruitarian. At the time, I was skeptical of his diet and questioned every aspect of it. Now, with the benefit of hindsight and my own healing journey, I see clearly that I was looking—but not really seeing. I hadn’t yet learned to appreciate the vibrant energy, charisma, and joy he embodied. My experience with raw fruits allowed me to view that moment with new eyes, recognizing the abundant joy and the evolution of self.

Today, I follow a predominantly raw diet. Though I’m human and my discipline occasionally wavers, there is no denying how alive and vibrant I feel when eating raw foods. This is the path I strive for—filled with the pleasures of fresh fruits and vegetables that nourish both body and soul.
